Preliminary work

Aarsleff Pipe Technologies is aware of the importance of a thorough preliminary work. Therefore, we have the most state-of-the-art technology within this field.

We always start out a renewal project by thoroughly flushing the damaged pipe system. The importance of being able to implement high quality CCTV inspection should not be underestimated. On the basis of preliminary CCTV inspection, we are capable of preparing a thorough and detailed renewal plan that provides our clients with an overall outline of all relevant aspects of a renewal project. A renewal plan thus provides a precise picture of the scope of the preliminary work required.

As part of our preliminary work, we remove roots and deposits, cut off intruding branches, measure-in active laterals and inspect laterals – depending on the condition of each individual pipe.

Sophisticated technology allows us to implement preliminary work even in extremely poor and confined spaces. Usually, the preliminary work is carried out with routine CCTV inspection. We implement all CCTV inspections according to the Control Scheme for Danish CCTV Inspection Companies (DTVK), and this contributes towards ensuring a uniform and very high quality level.

Today, we can measure the slope of a horizontal pipe with a high degree of accuracy by means of specialised equipment. CCTV inspection tells us, for instance, if the pipe is filled with water. However, if we need to know the exact reason for the presence of water in the pipe, then we use specialised equipment that provides us with information on whether the reason is owing to e.g. cavities or irregularities.

When we have prepared the pipe, then we report the pipe ready with a signature on the relevant general drawing, and we prepare an in-depth report that describes the prepared pipe in relation to laterals measured-in and any possible dimensional changes. Subsequently, the pipe is ready to be renewed by means of Aarsleff CIPP Lining.
