Laterals

Aarsleff Pipe Technologies renew a growing number of laterals every year ranging from housing blocks and houses to main pipes in the road. There are several reasons for the growing demand.  Our No-Dig methods are fast, effective and cost-efficient compared to traditional renewal methods. Also in the many cases when a lateral is in very bad shape.

By using state-of-the-art technology in this field, we are able to carry out even very complex renewal projects of laterals without excavation. It minimizes the inconvenience to traffic, residents and business owners. Furthermore, our methods for renewal of laterals require very little space. Renewal of laterals is often carried out from manhole to manhole. But the launch point or exit point can also be an excavation or similar.

In many cases, renewal of laterals is carried out in connection with big renewal projects that also comprise main pipes. Today, however, we carry out a growing number of renewal projects that only comprise laterals. When we renew laterals, we always focus on the transition between main pipe and lateral, as leaky transitions have caused decay of many pipe systems over the years.

There are many different types of laterals as well as different types of underground cable owners. We have extensive experience of cooperation with public as well as private underground cable owners. We commit a lot of resources to create a constructive dialogue between the parties involved in a renewal project. Not least during the preliminary phases in which finances, methods and scope must be included in a renewal plan for each individual project, whatever the size.
