Manhole renewal

Efficient renewal of manholes in sewer systems requires special competencies both regarding the preliminary inspection and the subsequent renewal. Among other things, the preliminary inspection documents precisely the need for treatment, possibly by flushing and sealing the manhole before the renewal. We never start renewing a manhole before it has been cleaned and extensive water infiltration has been stopped – typically by means of injection. Our specially trained employees always base their final decisions concerning wall thickness on the strength need of each manhole. Therefore, manholes placed very close to each other very rarely undergo identical renewal processes.

Aarsleff Pipe Technologies knows the importance of a thorough preliminary work prior to carrying out manhole renewal. Without thorough preliminary work, we risk that the manholes will not have the required life and that the price does not live up to our own expectations and to those of our clients.

Today, manholes can be renewed without excavation. Aarsleff Pipe Technologies thus uses jetcrete for renewal of manholes as this is the most effective and flexible method. Jetcrete adds new strength and surface to manholes and ensures corrosion-resistance, and consequently, the manhole life is extended.

Aarsleff Pipe Technologies is continuously working on developing new methods for No-Dig renewal of pipe systems. One of many results of our intensive development work is that we are capable of renewing a large number of manholes with a minimum of inconvenience to the surroundings. We typically carry out the work from small, very flexible mobile units. Also, our method does not create any noise nuisance.
