CCTV inspection
CCTV inspection is the only way to assess the condition of hidden pipes before and after implementation of renewal projects. And this applies to both vertical and horizontal pipes.
Aarsleff Pipe Technologies’ experiences gained clearly indicate that thorough CCTV inspection simply makes good sense. The right knowledge basis must be established. Therefore, we always start a renewal project by preparing a condition assessment based on our CCTV inspections. Based on such condition assessment, we prepare a renewal plan in cooperation with the client. The renewal plan identifies defects and main areas of action plus defines priorities of the project in question.
By means of a specially developed camera, the CCTV inspection provides a precise picture of the current condition of a pipe and shows which pipe sections require immediate renewal, renewal at a later date or no renewal at all. A CCTV inspection records and documents, digitally many different types of invisible pipe damage, for instance cracks, leaks, root intrusion, corrosion, fat deposits and deformations.
Often, a CCTV inspection reveals that cleaning of pipes is required. Cleaning of pipes can prove highly complicated, especially when the condition of the pipe is so poor that it may actually collapse during cleaning operation. Therefore, it may prove necessary to use routine CCTV monitoring when cleaning pipes.
When we have implemented a renewal job, we use CCTV inspection as documentation of the final result.
Aarsleff Pipe Technologies’ CCTV inspection equipment and operators are certified according to the Control Scheme for Danish CCTV Inspection Companies (DTVK).
